Consider including Syracuse Opera in your estate plans. Estate gifts of all sizes and varieties help to secure the future of opera in upstate New York.

There are two basic types of planned giving arrangements. Life Income Gifts allow you to make a gift immediately and receive income from the donation during your lifetime. Testamentary gifts, or bequests, allow you to transfer assets to Syracuse Opera when you are no longer in our audience.

Life Income Gifts, such as a charitable remainder trust, allow charitable gifts while the donor is living and can provide income until, upon death, the trust assets are distributed to Syracuse Opera. Trusts are individually managed portfolios created to meet your financial goals.

Bequests are the most common form of planned gifts, where Syracuse Opera is named as a beneficiary in your will or living trust. You can give a percentage of your estate, a specific sum of money, or name Syracuse Opera as a contingent beneficiary. Your estate will gain the financial benefit of claiming a charitable deduction for the bequest. Each option offers particular advantages, and should be discussed with your estate attorney and/or financial advisor.
